Kelly Atkinson is a very well known girl from Rochdale. She was originally from Chorley but moved to
Rochdale in her early years. She battled with Cystic Fibrosis for the 18 years of her life.
Unfortunately she could not fight no more and she passed away on 7th January 2009. She stared death
in the face several times and fought so much and pulled through. But this time, sadly she couldn't
fight it. As much as she wanted to, she had the will power but her body was unable to fight anymore.
We referred to ourselves as the 5 Musketeers. Me, Kelly, Emma, Daz & Beth. The 5 best of friends
forever and always. Although Kelly has left us. She will always remain our 5th Musketeer and will
always be referred to as my best friend. Kelly is the best friend anyone could ever wish for. Always
there for a chat, always there to sort out problems etc. She will never be forgotten by anyone,
especially her loving family and close friends. She was the strongest and most inspirational girl i
will ever meet in my life. Even when times were very bad, up until she passed away. She still sat
there giggling with me in hospital with a smile on her face. It just proves what a strong girl she
was. Her loss is a huge one to family and close friends. But no-one will ever forget her and she
will be in all our hearts. Rest in peace Kelly, we all love and miss you x

an angel named kelly.
i have the greatest friend on earth
sisters by god, but not by birth.
i owe her alot for all she has done for me
without her in my life, im not sure where id be.
we will be best friends untill we both die
we have certain jokes that nobody will understand but her and i.
together we share our life story
we look for good in others glory.

You are my hero, my best friend, my angel. You might as well be my big sister, you look after me so much and are always there for me. I don't know what i'd do without you. You make my world complete.
